'Returning from Trieste to Greece, Manto Mavrogenous, a young Greek heiress, is initiated by her uncle in the \"Filiki Eteria\", a secret revolutionary organization planning the liberation of Greece from the Ottomans. Manto will be evolved into a fearless commander of the Revolution of 1821, slowly gaining the reputation of a fearless woman and a fervent patriot. However, her intense relationship with Prince Demetrios Ypsilantis will raise eyebrows in the ranks of the political leaders, who strongly believe that the two fervent lovers intend to appoint themselves the first rulers of the newly established nation.
